SCORING
|
|
| SCHOOL SITE COMPETITIONS School site competitions should be conducted in the same manner as the regional and finals competition to be equitable. The School Site Coordinator should find volunteers for the following positions to conduct their competition: Minimum of Three Judges: The total score given by each judge is to be added together and then divided by the total number of judges to determine the presenters’ final score. Judges should be courteous and respectful of all participants and give them their undivided attention during each oration. Scorers: Are responsible for timing each oration. Timing begins once the participant speaks the first word of their selected presentation. Individual presenters are allotted three minutes and group renderings are allotted five minutes. There is a one-point deduction for exceeding the time limit. Talliers: Are responsible for collecting and tallying the judges’ sheet and posting the final score on the participants score sheet. REGIONAL ENTRIES Each school site is allowed to enter four orations from their school site competition. The top scorers should advance to the regionals. There can be no more than two chorals out of the four entries. FINALISTS The individual(s) or group choral(s) who have the top scores from the Regional will advance to the Finals. POSTERS AND FLYERS You can access all documents by clicking forms and the certificate is a template for school site competitions or you may develop your own. |
